Be your absolute best in all areas of your life.

“People don't resist change.  They resist being changed.”

Individual Coaching

Coaching is a gift you give yourself. Individual coaching may help you no matter where you are in your life. For example, coaching may help you:

  • Take charge of your leadership development.

  • Improve your leadership presence and existing abilities.

  • Engage and inspire your team as a team leader.

  • Find fulfillment and balance in all areas of your life.

  • Listen better and be more present in each interaction.

  • Define the next chapter of your life if you are re-entering or leaving the workforce.

At its core, coaching is a process of discovery and learning.

Your coach should be a trusted accountability partner who creates a space for you to explore areas of your life you want to improve and challenges you throughout the process to take the actions needed to achieve your goals.

If you are considering individual coaching, take the time to find that person with whom you connect and trust and who supports you on that journey.

The right coach challenges you to do the work needed to eliminate the barriers holding you back and achieve the goals you set for yourself - to “improve”, not simply “prove” yourself.

Beacon has worked successfully with C-level and V-level executives, high-potential professionals committed to attaining the next leadership level, first-time as well as experienced team leaders and managers, and professionals leaving (and returning to) the workforce.

Your Individual Coaching Plan

Your situation is unique, which is why we co-create your individualized coaching plan. Below is a sample of the steps your individual coaching plan may include. This sample plan and Beacon’s Individual Coaching service are supported by models and tools taught by Coach U and WBECs.

Step 1. Coaching Fit

We’ll get to know each other; you determine whether coaching in general and coaching with Beacon is the right fit for you.  Proper contracting at the beginning of our relationship is critical to your success with coaching.

Step 2.  Vision, Goals, and Objectives

You create and articulate your vision, goals, and objectives for the Individual Coaching process.  We will together explore specific insights related to your starting point, as well as your level of motivation to do the work you’ll need to do to achieve results.

Step 3.  Exploration & Discovery

We’ll explore and co-create your path forward for each of your goals.  You’ll examine, explore, and understand your core values and what motivates you.

This phase will also likely include the use of self-awareness tools such as the Core Values Index.

This phase may also include the development of specific capabilities, seeking opportunities to try new things, and reflecting on your actions to support learning.

Step 4. Action

Determine a coaching cadence where you’ll come to each coaching session prepared to discuss insights and learning you’ve had since the last session, the challenges/opportunities you currently have, and how you want to use your coaching time to move forward.

This phase also includes the use of frameworks, tools, and exercises that support the work you’ve committed to doing.

Step 5. Evaluate and Learn

We’ll touch base throughout the process to evaluate where you are in your journey and adjust where needed.

Reflection will be an important tool to support your journey -- reflecting on actions taken can lead to more rapid learning.

“Until I began this coaching relationship, I never realized how important it is for me as a leader to have someone I trust - a non-judgmental party - available to me. I can voice my thinking in a safe space, have someone mirror and challenge my thinking in a way that often brings greater clarity and commitment to action. I've become a much more effective (team) leader; our results bear that out as well.”

— Rick, CEO, Energy.

The Individual Coaching Process is Not Linear.

For example, in one coaching relationship, we began our work by focusing on achieving better professional results and realized through the coaching process that the primary challenge was a lack of professional fulfillment, which affected the client’s professional and personal lives.

In this instance, the client decided that her overarching challenge was making life choices and prioritizing her goals consistent with her core values.

The coaching process was then adapted to support that awareness.

“Lisa has inspired me to be courageous and equipped me with the tools to have difficult conversations and lean in when it feels most uncomfortable.”

— A. A., Vice President, Energy Private Equity.
